We
are pleased to announce that from January 2010 Rescue 3 (UK)
will partner with TRG to offer a new satellite training centre
in
the West of England at the River Dart Country Park. The full
range
of Rescue 3 courses will be available.
Rescue 3 Courses Now
available in either North Wales or Devon
We are pleased to announce a joint
collaboration with Rescue 3(UK) and the River Dart Country Park
in Devon to create the first satellite training centre for Rescue
3(UK).
The new centre - Rescue 3(UK) South
West will allow students to access the full range of swift water,
flood, rope, powerboat and management courses
delivered by Rescue 3 (UK) but now with the option of attending
a course in either North Wales or Devon.
All courses
will be delivered by the Rescue 3(UK) / TRG team which means
the high levels of equipment, content and training that
have
made
us a market leader in specialist rescue training will continue
and now be available on open enrolment courses outside of North
Wales for the first time. Delegates will also be able to attain
Certification from the University
of Central
Lancashire
and gain credits towards a foundation degree in addition
to their
Rescue
3 qualification.
The new Rescue
3 (UK) South West training centre utilises some of the best training
venues within the region. A wide variety of rivers and flowing
water features, including swift water, mature rivers, weirs,
locks, docks, urban and industrial settings. Superb and diverse
coastal environments, from tidal races to large mud flats and
estuaries. A magnificent range of moorlands, coastal cliffs,
caves,
mines and industrial settlings.
The River Dart Country Park itself offers a superb range of high
quality water
features
and
environments,
combined with quality on site accommodation, teaching and support
facilities enabling many courses to be delivered completely
within the 90 acre site.
In addition
to the full range of existing Rescue 3 courses, we
will
be piloting
new Rescue
3 Courses
from
the
facility in the spring of 2010:

Internationally
Recognised &
Externally Validated Rescue Training Courses
We
deliver the full range of Rescue 3 International Swift Water
and Flood Rescue Technician training courses. We work very
closely with the Rescue 3 International, Rescue 3 Europe and
in Great Britain we partner with the preferred training provider
Rescue 3 (UK) to manage and deliver all Rescue 3 courses at
the new satellite training centre in the West Country. To date
over 4000 people have been trained through the Rescue 3 scheme
in the UK with hundreds more attending courses every year.
Today
you will find Rescue 3 certified Instructors working within
a significant number of the UK Fire & Rescue Services and
mountain rescue teams with more instructors being added all
the time. This means that the Rescue 3 swift water technician
scheme is extensively taught across the UK emergency response
sector contributing to a high degree of common best practice
across teams and agencies.
The
swift water rescue and rope rescue courses we deliver are an
intensive mix of classroom and river-based / cliff based sessions.
Our courses are designed to deliver both underpinning knowledge
and practical capability at a rescue scene.
We
run these courses on scheduled dates across the year where
you can book your place(s) on an individual basis or as a 'contracted
course' for groups of 4 or more on agreed dates and locations.
We
deliver our courses all over the UK and abroad from any location
with suitable facilities and water environments. Courses are
run on a regular basis from our home base on Dartmoor in the
South West. We do however work in other areas depending upon
features and facilities so please contact us for further information.
Our Swift Water Rescue Technician Courses can be tailored to
your specific operational needs and contract courses are often
extended beyond the normal Rescue 3 Swift Water Rescue Technician
syllabus for example, night operations, estuary and tidal areas,
docks and locks and rescue from vehicles.
All
our instructional staff are qualified through the Rescue 3
scheme and we have an extensive network of very experienced
trainers from across the UK.
There
are various levels of training available:
Awareness
for general personnel duty of care.
Operations
for 1st responders and rescue support personnel.
Technician
for specialist rescue assets.
Instructor
for teaching your own courses.
Management for Bronze / silver command.
All our courses are designed to dovetail with the CFOA recommendations
with regard to water rescue within the Fire and Rescue Service.
